Forensics Week Day 4

Updated: Nov 8, 2022

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Mr. Garside and Officer Mixon set up an investigation for our class to solve with evidence and actors. We split into groups of three and quickly started our investigation. Our end goal was to come to a conclusion about what we thought had happened at this scene incorporation everything we had learned this week. We were given 10 minutes to take as many pictures and notes as possible.

After searching the scene, my team came to the conclusion that the young girl with a cut and bloody bandage on her forehead was intoxicated, her reason for not wanting to go to the hospital and was distracted by her phone leading to her losing control of the car and crashing headfirst into something. We believed this due to the receipt found in the backseat along with her phone. There was also a mannequin that was feet first through the windshield. We predicted that this was caused by the passenger without a seatbelt had their feet on the dashboard sending the through the window as the crash occurred. This was an exciting lab and made me and my team truly feel like we were in a real investigation!
