On May 16, 2023, Dr. Forester, a "Vet Tech," from Coastal Alabama Community College, came and spoke to our class about her career and the Veterinary Technology program at Coastal!
Dr. Forester started with explaining what exactly a Vet Tech is and what their job includes. Vet Techs help all types of animals live healthy and happy lives, they use medical knowledge and clinical skills to provide routine and nursing care under the direction of a veterinarian. Some tasks they preform include well-check exams, laboratory tests, or assisting during surgery. She compared her job with animals with a nurse for humans. It was a nice change of pace and information to talk about animal health rather than human health!
